Description
My previous series illustrated landing on the moon and return to orbit of the Russian 1960s secret manned lunar program. This image is the last of the series depicting the arrival of the spacecraft at the moon. Subsequent landing activity is depicted in my earlier series, LK Moon Landing and LK Return.
The Blok D engine cuts off and LK separates, configuring itself for landing. The LK engine ignites to further slow the lander as it nears the surface. This engine will bring the LK to its soft landing. The Blok D will continue on its trajectory to a crash landing some kilometers away.
The Blok D is from Renderosity Free Stuff. The lander is my LK figure. The engine flame is one of Jepe's FlameZ from DAZ. The star background is from DAZ's Easy Environments: Earth. The moon and earth are from NASA photos.
The scene was composed and rendered in Poser 11 and composited in Corel Photo Paint.
