Artwork Name: Gateway to China by Dan Seitzinger - NOTE: When I created this brand new artwork, it was before the current bad news coming out of China. So, I wanted to add to this and say that my deepest sympathy, my heart and prayers are with those whom have lost their loved one's to this current outbreak that is happening in this country. Such a horrible tragedy!! :( Original Post: Anyway, here is the original posting that I made a day or so ago on DTMH Groups, as follows: Hello everyone! I’ve been quite the busy artist lately. Not only am I working on a new website, I also somehow managed to squeeze in some time to make a new artwork… I’m burning candles at both ends I guess! So, this one is called “Gateway to China”. If you are wondering; No, never been to Asia, but, I’ve always wanted to create a nice landscape that is based on the unique mountain ranges that I’ve seen about the country, and on TV and in books. Really, they have some of the most fascinating landscapes, from what I’ve seen in photos and elsewhere. So, before I crated this scene, I did my homework. I did my best to create some of those wild mountains shapes in this image. It’s my concept of a meandering waterway, with a lovely atmospheric sky backdrop on this foreign land. Yes, that is fog and mist, similar to tulle-fog in the scene… Of course, I had to include some curious Panda’s. I have them looking towards you, and staring at you, as you’re sailing on the boat down the river, or shall I say, Chinese Junk. Yup, that’s what they are called, from my research about them. Also, I’d looked up the kind of trees and vegetation that would be in that part of the world. Because, I wanted it to be fairly accurate to the region. You see, I wanted to put in some pine-tree’s, but, found out via research online, they don’t have the typical pine-trees we have here. They are not like our north American pines. It’s a different species of pine-tree, called “Asian pine-trees” and they look much different compared to our North American Pine Trees. So yes, I did my homework, before I made this artwork. Anyway, thank you for looking my friends, I do hope you like this one. Take care!! :-) Your artist buddy, Dan Seitzinger – http://www.danseitzinger.com - Originally posted at: www.deartomyheart.com - DTMH Groups.

It's so beautiful! Love the lighting, the water, the POV, and of course the pandas. I was wondering what software you used to create and render the scene, but your comment above answers the question about renderer. I sure wish Bryce still worked on a Mac!

Oh perpetualrevision, so kind of you to reach out my friend. Yes, I've been a long time Bryce user! I didn't know that Bryce did not work on Mac's, I assumed they did... I know Bryce is a bit dated now, so maybe it did work on older versions of the Apple OS, but not sure about that. Maybe you could research that issue, or maybe there is a patch or PC emulator that would allow you to run Bryce on you Mac. Anyway, thank you for your kind complement, I really do appreciate that, very much, take care!! :-) Artist Dan Seitzinger.- My personal website and online art gallery: www.danseitzinger.com
