Description

I made an image like this over 20 years ago when I was first starting out in photoshop. I decided to remake it to see if I could make it better. The ships are from Vanishing Point website. The background is built up from 3d models from Video Copilot. All rendered in Carrara and composed in photoshop. Flames are custom made from filters in After Effects.

You've recaptured a lot of the excitement of the original Star Wars film, which is amazing considering that a scene that looks exactly like this one does not exist in the original film. You remind me of how amazing that film was long before the prequels, sequels, and sundry peripherals bogged it down. This is some wonderful artwork you have done, and I'm glad you shared it with all of us today.
