Description

Many of the classical myths surrounding Scorpio centre around the hunter Orion. In one of these, Orion boasted to Artemis that he would hunt every animal on the Earth. Although Artemis is also a hunter, she is also protectress of animals and so a a scorpion was sent to kill Orion. Zeus raised the scorpion to heaven and afterwards did the same for Orion to serve as a warning for excessive pride. Historically, Scorpio was ruled by Mars but this was switched to Pluto after its discovery in 1930 (so does it go back to Mars now that Pluto is officially not a planet any more, I wonder?). Scorpio's birthstone is topaz, and its associated with complex flowers such as chrysanthemum and peony, and the colours deep red, brown and black. I initially hit a bit of a brick wall with this one... fortunately the Classical associations with Artemis and Mars provided a workable concept that that could be mashed together from items in my library with a freebie props retextured to match. Thanks to Atrion for his excellent "scorpion chain". The outfit is mostly Daz's "centurion" and "her battle" texture set.
