its easy to get tempted by meshsmooth into thinking everything is fine and dandy. and since this is your first work, i would say its pretty good. but meshsmooth doesn't solve everything. i say build the thing like you actually think it should look with low poly technique. ALL the details. then add meshsmooth as icing on the cake.
