after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve

Great picture, and you're right; the song is about a train that ran (and still runs) from Chicago to New Orleans.

Awesome steampunk image Steve!! This is really a marvelous piece of artwork....but....don't get me wrong.....I just don't see how this dark, and dreary, and drab, and gloomy scene is supposed to cheer anyone up,,,,,,it gives you a feeling of 'gloom and doom'.just looking at it. I would think you would have sent your friend (Monique) something bright and cheerful.....to make her feel better, and to cheer her up. I hope she likes it!! Anyways.....that's just my opinion....it's still an amazing piece of work Steve, and I like it.....even though it makes me feel gloomy, just by looking at it. 'lol'! I likey!!

Excellent achievement, Steve! This image seems to represent a woman waiting for her train and going to leave somewhere. The atmosphere is sad but I think you wanted it to mean the sadness experienced by the departure of Mo. We all feel sadness because of her departure ...Great work as always, my friend !

I don't know Monique personally, but I know of her, and I truly hope she will get better soon. A beautiful mysterious image for her, with a departing woman and her dog, dressed just right for a station called "machinville". A great old clock, a great old vendor with a bike, love the stuff on the wall in the background (incl a World Wildlife logo), and those great rusted railway signals. Plus great dark tracks, and a sense that this is late at night in an abandoned part of town. Love the light on the woman and the windows...and the feeling of hopefully going to a better place. With all the darkness in this image, it feels very positive to me, which I can't explain...it just feels that way. Terrific mood piece, steve.
Steve I'm at almost an hour in your gallery, and unfortunately I have to move on. I'll be back for more soon. But it's always a great pleasure to comment on your amazing work. And I hope your mid-week weekend (you mentioned you had a day or two off, in your latest upload) gives you rest. And that you and your loved ones stay healthy. And thank you for your wonderful greeting and comment in my gallery...thank you for always making me feel so welcome.
