Description
Hello everybody!
My progress in mastering Poser is insignificant. However, I try hard to learn something new. I like Roxie as a character, she is always charming and sometimes shows her strict notes and requires tenderness.
Thank you all for viewing and criticizing.
P.S. the drawing is made in Poser 11. I have problems with light. Processed image in PhotoFiltre and Adobe Photoshop CS3 Windows.

Roxie looks wonderful here. Lights? For outdoor scenes I use an infinite for sunlight, shadows 0.6 to 0.6 and shadow blur 1 or more based on the kind of shadows you want. And one IBL. This is critical map should be based on an outdoor scene with hazy blue sky. Take it into photoshop and add lots of lens blur so you cant see the detail, only blobs of color Now by trial and error get the balance between sun and IBL. Sun at 80 snd IBL at 55 is a good starting point. Depends on IBL image. jFor some irenders I add a second infinite shining up at 30 degrees or so from the ground, no shadow, to use as a fill. Set it at 20 or 30. angles z=0 x=30 and rotate y to get the effect you want.

Thank you very much for your review of the Roxie portrait. Oh, You've given me invaluable advice on new experiments with stage lighting in Poser. I am truly grateful and ready to get a new experience with Stage lighting. My difficulties from lighting in Poser 2014 and mastering Poser 11 in the appearance of "Area Light". Of course, in the "free materials" section, I found examples of Scenes using different Light sources. However, the lighting of each Scene turns into an entertaining process for me. It's not easy, really. The truth is that Experience does not come immediately in any possible case. I wish you creative potential and inspiration for creativity. And of course, simply, Smiles and Mood. :-)

Nicely done! I agree with mazzam about outdoor lighting: a single infinite light as the "sun" and an IBL that provides environmental lighting to match your scene. For indoor lighting, I often use only point lights, set to inverse linear attenuation at about 10% intensity each, placed wherever there are actual lamps or light fixtures in the scene -- with IDL enabled in render settings. I believe area lights are primarily for use with Superfly, so you might just focus on getting the hang of infinite, point, and IBL lights for now, since you can light a wide variety of scenes with those!
