Description

I wanted to give this a bleak atmosphere. Weeks after, Nona revisits the Battlefield. Thanks for looking and our comments.

superb atmosphere, excellent palette

I do wish some of the bird models commonly available were more anatomically accurate tho; they work perched but always look oddly distorted when in flight. I frequently have to resort to 2d brushes as a result...

yes I agree on this Joe, brushes seem less unnatural.

Nice, would love to have the fog coming in closer though to help mute the middle ground a touch.

Thank you for this, I agree, a mid whiff of fog would have given it more depth!

Interesting image. I agree about the birds. The weather seems so much cold, that she ought to wear gloves...

Do you remember Germanicus visiting the place where Varus and his armies had been defeated and exterminated by Arminius? "Schlacht im Teutoburger Wald". I remember that Tacite has given a description of what the battlefield was 6 years after the battle. I have visited this place in Germany 4 years ago.

Alain, yes, I do remember visiting and reading about the spot "im Teutoburger Wald". It's still eerie. Time to revisit the description.
