Description

A test of a simulated 3D effect called [wiggle steroscopy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiggle_stereoscopy) using Armands Auseklis' incomparable 'Sine Warriors' planet. This is a seven-second linear animation that could be looped - but it really should be in Animated GIF form. For some reason animated GIFs can't be posted here.

There is a great deal of displacements 'popping' in the far terrain. This is the same old QAEB thing. Ray tracing would probably eliminate that problem.

Watching those psychedelic thingies wobbling around was the funniest disappoinment since Star Trek Picard. ;-p Love it.

"Ray tracing would probably eliminate that problem."

No, at least not at the default ray trace settings. I ran that test overnight and there were still problems with the distant peaks, although it was better. I've goosed the settings up & will try it again.

Here I was expecting the sort of marching terrains one gets w/ Shadowwatchers.

How many frames do you render for that wiggle?

Five frames @30fps.

I'm trying to work out the settings for the Ray Tracer right now. When I get it I'll post the technique in the user forum.

The default distance for the RT is '50,000' meters. I measured it out and the distance value should be more like '133,000' meters.
