Description

I've just been reminded that none of the deaths occurring OUTSIDE of Hospitals has been counted in the summing up of the daily and grand total of cases and fatalities in UK!! It just so happened that the only two Deaths from Coronavirus in Hoylake where we live were at the Nursing Home where my Cathy WORKS!!! I am beside myself with worry now! She doesn't deserve this after enduring major cancer surgery and aftercare! Also considering that I am an "AT RISK" patient because of my age and both Cathy and indirectly I have both been potentially exposed to the virus! There has been no follow up to check if we've been in contact with the two victims! It was then only after those unfortunate deaths that they banned any visitors at the home!! There have been more than 28 needless deaths of medical workers (Now over 120 and rising)! because of the lack of personal protection apparatus! Not to forget the death of a Rail worker from the virus, working on our local railway. Strikes me, the only way the deaths in UK will subside is when more care is taken to TEST all and sundry like is happening elsewhere in Europe. There have been remarkable results of how the virus has been contained by health authorities who have really taken incessant testing to a whole new level! Thorough testing of the whole population will also cost far less than it has to set up those ridiculously large new temporary hospitals which will more than likely never be used to capacity!

I know, we have no idea here how many cases there are in the community, how many hospitalizations, so we have no idea how serious this actually is. As it is, the only thing you can do is stay in and pretty much decontaminate everything that comes in the door.

Dear God.. She shouldn't even be there considering what she's been through already.. You're both in my prayers, my friend.

Yeah.... Day to day.... That's all we can do at this point. I'd rather stay in lock-down a few weeks longer than necessary, than end it early and have a resurgence of this curse.

Fantastic artwork, by the way! Wow!

Should have been a total lockdown from the start, then we'd be coming out the other side of it now. Everyone should be tested, without fail, not just those already ill or "at risk"; really, aren't we all at risk, either for ourselves or of the chance of passing it on?

And while idiots continue to go out on day trips despite the lockdown, this will never end.

Great work by the way.

Great image. I agree we must stay in lock down for longer. I am sure I wouldn't want to go to a show with the girls, if I might be able to still catch it. I do hope you & Cathy stay well. I am very surprised re care home.

First off, I sincerely hope Cathy hasn't been infected, and, of course, you in turn--really a terrible turn in events...you both need to be tested...

Stepping on my soapbox > >>

As far as staying home, etc., you've got that right, Steve. Until there is a vaccine, staying home and social distancing are the only things we can do to help stop the spread of this virus as well as testing, testing, testing...Seems the UK is doing exactly like the US in not including the count of nursing home Covid fatalities in death totals. Also probably not counting those heart attack fatalities likely due to Covid into the death totals...As far as testing is concerned, both the US and UK get failing grades...the US has only tested less than 1% of its population. Lack of sound, knowledgeable leadership in D.C. is the root of the problems the US is experiencing with this viral attack. It's like a bunch of three-year-olds play-acting at running a nation.

There most likely will be a second wave of this virus (even with stringent mitigation efforts), but more importantly, people must understand and accept that, if countries loosen the social / public health mitigation guidelines at this point in time, this damned thing will come back with a vengeance--it's already happening in Asia--remember: it was just one person who started this whole mess...

Most everyone, especially the vulture capitalists and the "cry-baby" adults, want to get back to "normal" NOW, boohoohoo. Since it is unlikely life will soon, or ever, be the same after this thing runs its course, people should start accepting this new paradigm and start adapting...

So worrying--I hope you can stay in and be one of the lucky ones! Testing is so important! And this is a gorgeous image, too!

A most excellent scene here, Steve. Most delightful and magical work. Way to go.

In the US, the story is even more bizarre. Our chief Yeti, you know who I'm talking about, has the federal government stealing PPE supplies from the states. He finds out where they are getting them and jumps in and redirects their orders to federal locations unknown to anyone outside his inner circle. One unnamed state said they ordered supplies from China and when the planes arrive, they plan to greet them in force with all their police and national guard units just to make sure the Feds don't get them. What a crazy f---kd up development that is, eh? And I'm sure there must be millions more stories of horror and demonic cruelty fulmigated by this administration that probably will never see the light of day. Nothing has ever been said about all the poor people (children and adults) caged up at our borders. I hate to think about all the bad karma that is building up for us as a nation for allowing this abomination to continue.
