another really interesting art work in a different style, very French with the kissing in the background, the Japanese would bow and the English would look embarrassed :) lovely image

The background has a 'pencil' feeling...like it was drawn in fine graphite. (It has a little bit of etching in it too.) And the background is in muted hues---sepias, grays, a little bit of purple, some browns, etc. I love the couple in the background---they give it a 1930s/1940's feeling. As if this were a moment from an old film.
The girl (fille) has a pastel feeling---as if you drew her in pastels/chalks. Very soft textures, like you rubbed the pastels across paper. (Rubbed pastels can feel very soft, like facial rouge...) She has a very reflective gaze, inward and mysterious. And she gives an air of mystery to your image...she also gives intimations of love (in the future). It's a very retro image, beautifully 1940's-ish, with muted colors and soft textures. And it suggests a melancholy moment of meeting and contemplation. Beautifully done, Ute.
