Description

Yeah! Sitting home quite a lot, I went through the old record collection (those old big vinil-thingies (lol) ) and listened to songs of my Favorite Bands (most of them not existing anymore - Yup, I'm that old), when I came across this Album. I immediately felt the desire to redo the cover picture with nowadays 3d-Tools. So I sat down, first build the Background picture in Gimp (I'm not rich enough to pay up for Adobe Photoshop, and Gimp does most of my things just perfect). Then I searched my huge Poser and DAZ Runtime for a Rope, a Top hat and those typical Artist pants (knee long, high waist, and Suspenders), some fitting shoes for the Artist (something Ballerina like) and a scissors. Most stuff I could find somewhere in different packages I once bought or from Freestuff from diverse places. The Scissors where found at archive3d.net and just had to be slightly modified and rigged (to be able to open and close it) for to be usable in DAZ-Studio. How ever those typical pants where nowhere to find. So I decided to model them quickly in Hexagon (constant training helps improve the skills ;-) ) and rigged them in DAZ-Studio. Rigging clothes (or sometimes even characters) is just so easy in DAZ-Studio (even easier than rigging a Vehicle or a Mech), because there is an assistant, that helps rigging by taking the rig of the source character (G3M in my case) and copies it to the destination (the pants). Then it does all the weight mapping, which sometimes need a bit of tweaking if it should work perfectly. But for the distance character the pants don't needed to by especially detailed, nor did I have to fiddle with the weight mapping. The Moon is a simple sphere and the Spot on from below was made with the "epic godray" package. The rendertime was quite long (I rendered it over night) but the result was fairly good. Yet alone the Spot from Below was a little too dark and I brightened it up In Postwork (Yuck, I dont want to do Postwork, I want to have it all rendered correctly, but given the long render time I decided to jump over my own shadow and do it in post work, rather than waiting another night...) LOL Oh and by the way, I think you all know very well of which Band I'm talking with this Cover. If not, search it and listen to it, cause it's really good music ;-) Credits: Artist: FWSA Max for Tween Ryan 7 by Fred Winkler Art, Sabby @ DAZ3D Hair: Classic Side Part Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 by RedzStudio @ DAZ3D Shirt: Slacker Outfit for Genesis 3 Male(s) by OziChick @ DAZ3D (retexturized by me) Pants: modeled in Hexagon by Furnose (thats me :-D) Shoes: Teen Kitty Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s) by Anna Benjamin, Nikisatez @ DAZ3D Spot effect: Epic Props: Godrays & Volumetric Light for Iray by ThePhilosopher @ Daz3D Hope ya like it. Since I'm still learning (as all of us), you are welcome to comment on this picture

I was just checking to see if I could find the original cover on Google, but I just don't find it, but even without comparison, I think it's really cool, it has become really great.

I have a pretty good collection of those funny round black disc thingies - and the gadget that plays them as well. Last year I just finished digitizing every one of them... Don't remember this one, but you did a killer (no pun intended... 😆) job on this, good sir!

Ah, Supertramp.... I'll go check it out!

Supertramp ! They were my favorite band back in the 198...stop ! I'm too old. When I bought their first album (in Paris) only a few people had heard of them and then, suddenly, boom ! they became a worldwide phenomenon...Ah ! Breakfast in America ! and then their famous last words...memories are made of this. Many thanks for this homage...your image is superb.
