Lock down has been imposed in the cities. The roads are empty. The cities look like ghost towns. There is no work for migrant laborers. No work means no wages. No wages mean no food. They have been thrown out by their landlords because they cannot pay rents. Trains buses and other transport are closed. They have to reach their beloved ones. Better to die together . They decide. Thousands of migrant laborers from cities are walking to their villages . Their children following them. The small ones perched on their fathers shoulders. They will walk 500-700 kilometers to reach their villages. Bare feet they trudge along with their meager belongings held on their head. Every few kilometers they stop to pull thorns from their feet and check from how many places it has been cut. There is no food with them. Sometimes a kind person gives them some little to eat. They take it and continue their journey. It will take them weeks to reach their destination. Some will die on the road with exhaustion. But the journey must continue. Life must continue.
