Description
The sunflower is a seeker of the life-giving rays of sun and much of what it symbolizes today is taken directly from its namesake the sun.
For the Native Americans tribes of the south west the sunflower, along with corn, was an important food source as early as 3000 BC. Spanish ships returning from the New World carried the seeds of the sunflower to Europe and its popularity spread quickly.

A beautiful work that blankets the viewer in the feeling of peace, joy, and hopefulness. There is nothing like standing in nature to make us feel better about our place in the world, and to have it be a field of sunflowers with their brilliant colour and majestic stature, there's a sense of the person being able to cloak herself in its protection too. Wonderful. :)
