Great job, especially on the welding bit. To me this scene looks as if it could do with some grunge, but this is just me nagging on a high level, again.

Welcome, hylasEA !! This site can never have enough SciFi contributors :-)

Don't be put off by my esteemed colleague's high level nagging. He is in fact a kind and generous soul who puts on a gruff face.

With great respect and humility, I have a different take. The heart and soul of this image, as the title implies, is 'The Weld'. Why keep the viewer at arm's length and make engagement difficult? The lab is not more important. Bring the viewer in closer to entice a more emotional impact from the scene's far more fascinating point: the weld.

Nonetheless, an excellent piece and brilliant concept :-)

Thanks for your nice comment and feedback! I think I disagree with you here, I think the orange glow would not have the same impact if it wasn't surrounded by all this blue. But constructive feedback like yours is always welcome!
