I noticed that Jurassic Lure didn't quite get the response that my other recent artworks have received so I'm thinking I must have messed it up somehow. This is an alternate version rendered with depth of field effects. Is this better or worse? What could I do to improve it? Perhaps not quite as much DOF blur in the foreground - I find it a bit distracting, but it might be just me.. Otherwise I see nothing at all wrong with it. The lighting and composition is right on.
As far as the lack of response, I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of your work. I think it's more along the lines of "you scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours.." as far as commenting goes. It may or may not be "right" but the more you comment on others' art, the more comments will come in return. In the 10+ years I've been here, I've tried to comment not only on my many friends' artwork, but on other artwork I find enjoyable and well done. Some return the favor and some don't - it's a toss-up, really. Hope this helps. Either way, keep creating your excellent art. You are very talented!

I think I like the original better b/c of how easily we could see her leg and high heel, and aren't those kinda the main point? That this intrepid cave explorer has made her way to a close encounter of the jurassic kind wearing improbable high heels?
As for responses, I've given up trying to figure out why some pieces get more than others. But I definitely agree with RodS about "comment karma." And about the fact that you're very talented!

Great composition. Textures, lighting and camera excellent. I'd hate to be in her high-heels.
