“Quel était cet endroit ?” se demanda-t-elle. Battu par les vents et les orages, cette côte désolée au milieu de nulle part, dans une nuit éternelle, ne pouvait être que les Enfers. Mais, qu’attendait-on d’elle ? Une voix éclairée par une faible lanterne lui répondit : « tu es la Danaïde, te voilà condamnée à transvaser toute l’eau de cette mer dans le creux de ce rocher » Mais, je n’ai pas de récipient ! répondit la suppliciée. « Ta peine a été aggravée, tes vêtements suffiront bien ». On rapporte que c’est ainsi que commença le cycle infernal des convulsions de cette femme qui assistait aux métamorphoses éternelles de son corps, des plus séduisants au tas de chiffons, qui n’avait plus de nom. Au loin, dans la voute courroucée, le visage d’un dieu impitoyable, foudroyait la scène de l’arête acérée de son nez.
"What was this place?" she wondered. Beaten by winds and thunderstorms, this desolate coast in the middle of nowhere, in an eternal night, could only be Hell. But what was expected of her? This is how the hellish cycle of convulsions began for this woman who witnessed the eternal metamorphoses of her body, from the most attractive to the heap of rags, which no longer had a name. In the distance, in the wrathful vault, the face of a merciless god, struck the scene with the sharp edge of his nose.

Ton image est forte et très bien réalisée ! On dirait un peu une peinture classique de style "romantique" du 19ème siècle, avec un sujet emprunté à la Mythologie ou à la Littérature. Le châtiment divin est bien représenté avec cette lumière éblouissante dans les nuages et la colonne de foudre ; on peut même voir un visage comme le dit Marco qui a écrit un beau texte pour illustrer cette scène impressionnante !! Magnifique travail, Ute !!
