Description

While not 100% accurate to the one in the recent film, this is a Balrog I started today. After about 4 hours work, here it is. I used the horns from my demon and tweaked them a bit to look more like the ones from the film. I have to detail the throat some (like my old Kron model) and of course throw in the teeth. Rendered in Flamingo with minor image enhancement in Photoshop and recoloured in 'shop using Variations to create a nice firey red. Comment and suggestions please.

nice work teyon, if you dont mind me asking a few things, in the screenshot you showed, in the top view, i think i saaaw that the folds in the horns of the left half of the head was too artificcially alined in symmetry with the plane of cross section? or was it my imagination, thats my only comment aas to the reality of this model but other than that, your modelling is good,

The blended horns you speak of (see the Rhino Forum post "Shadow and Flame...") were indeed set too low and thus caused the look you spoke of (I think that's the cause of it). Good eye!
