Description
The Triangle being a completely neutral territory with varying factions in charge, a wide variety of potential Federation members and Independents scout and make their own trade agreements within the large section of systems. Here the Zodiac class USS Aries has a rendezvous with an independent Trill vessel, The Teneran.

Inspired by an un-named Animated Series vessel in the Time Trap episode, (and a really good modeler tackling the ships of the Animated Series over on the Trek BBS) the Trill vessel is patterned off the sketch and appearance in the episode. I didn't detail it too much to keep with the Animated aesthetic, but if I put some more into it you could see it hanging a bit more up close with the hero ship models.

Ah, I thought the outlines of the vessel looked somewhat familiar. Nice idea, attributing it to the Trill. With TAS still exploring the basic design aesthetics of Star Trek, it now has a bit of a Federation feel to it (probably unintended back then), but it's just off enough to warrant some explanation. Trill sound perfectly fine to me. ;-)

Thank you! Yeah I've been following another artist working on realizing 3d meshes of the Animated ships and I really liked this and another design so I took my own shot at it. ;)

I take it the Zodiac class is like an earlier version, dos style, of the Defiant class. I like the looks of it.

That was the general idea of her yes. She's also a kind of a springboard for the Oberth class, at least in my head anyway.
