Description
Trying to see the differences between vues normal render mode and using trace path render mode .this scene set up in vue creator , no changes of any kind between renders and no post work they are both staight renders out of vue this one is the normal vue render and this one took 5 hours and 32 mins so quite a bit longer is it any better ? it looks different all changes are only down to the different vue render engines
Thanks for stopping to take a look

Beautiful scene

I think this normal Vue render comes with some built in approximation that makes it overall brighter (more specular?) than the ray trace version, which has fewer highlights and looks slightly darker. It basically comes down to personal taste I think. The eye says the normal Vue render is 'nicer', but the renderer says the ray trace is more real.. excellent in both instances

This is slightly brighter and has a faint more haze to it. The sky is less saturated here, but does not look unreal. The bluer sky and atmosphere in the previous looks a little less realistic compared to this image. The shadows are a little prominent in this one too, especially in the grass. All that said, with out a side by side they both look good and it becomes a matter of taste. If you put them both through photoshop you could probably make one look like the other. Either way they look good. Saving time might be a deciding option too in some cases

Looks a lot better for an out of the box Vue render than some renders I have to tweak endlessly in Xstream 2016 to get decent realism. What version of Vue are you using? I assume it's the current iteration. I might have to invest in it if realistic renders are this straightforward.

I'm just using Vue creator which now on subscription is always updated instead of Eon dropping support each time a new version gets released
