On Ashirion there's a race of fox creatures known as the Foxlin. Allow me to give you a small example from my databanks of History. Foxlin 101.5 The Foxlin They have no society of their own and no one really knows how they came about, there are various rumours that this particular race is the love and creation of the Goddess Fortune when she was in one of her odder moods. They find themselves all across the Sphere and tend to like to congregate around Summer's lands, though truth be told they can be found anywhere. They resemble humanoids of around five to six feet with lithe and slim builds, they are covered in fur, have planti(Human like) grade legs and a Foxes head, atop their shoulders. They have big bushy fox tails and neat claws and sharp teeth. They're quite capable of biting with quite a nasty bite. Since they have no culture of their own they tend to adopt the ones that surround them quite nicely, so they'll dress in swashbuckler clothes, wide brimmed hats, rakish feathers and high boots. Foxlin who dress like this otten cut quite a swathe through the various people's they encounter. They're a frivolous people and entirely too light-fingered for their own good some time, this also points to the fact that they could be protege's of Fortune herself, they certainly seem to have her blessing. They have bright eyes usually of red and hazel, though most colours are indeed possible, the same with the fur, brown or reds, with any other colours allowed. Black and White being most rare. They're fond of white and red meats, any kinds of wine and most of them tend to be just too disinterested to make any kind of permenant impression on anyone, they're always off doing things, they could be likened as being on a permenant sugar-high. They're not mean spirited or nasty though, although some can be quite snippy when provoked, there are of course the exeptions to the rule that are mean and nasty. Snowfire and Kadojala being two good examples of the Foxlin that would likely stab you for being called Cute. They tend to make fine thieves, good crews on Windships or Sailing Ships, and they love magic so they try their hardest to become mages or hang around with mage types. This leads them to a life of adventure, so they become quite adept with traps and dark dungeons. They are quite sensitive creatures as a whole so they can be fairly easy to upset. It's not recommended to do this however since the Shakari have always kind of looked after them and of late have become increasingly protective of their Foxish fellows. There are some wild Foxlin who still cling to a kind of tribal life and run around in packs out in the wilderness, but they are often treated with aloof amusement by their peers, who think that they could be better off learning to read, to write and to study magic. They speak at least common and one other language, usually something like elven, but not all of the time. Any Foxlin encountered on the grid is going to be pretty much an adventurer or one who's out to seek fame and fortune.
