Elle pratiquait l'art de se maquiller comme on fait du patinage ou de la danse, dans le rattrapage incessant de l'équilibre de ses gestes. A peine, avait-elle surligné une mèche de ses cheveux d'un peu de turquoise entre ses doigts, qu'elle balançait la tête en rattrapant d'une autre main teintée d'outremer, la contre courbe d'une autre mèche. Ses faux-cils étaient ajustés avec une telle dextérité qu'on aurait dit les bruissements d'éventail d'une andalouse. Elle terminait le tableau, les yeux clos, en offrant son visage lumineux à des poignées de pigments purs qu'elle jetait en l'air comme dans la fête de holi. Le public heureux, en ressortait coloré pour la journée.

She practiced the art of making up like skating or dancing, constantly catching up with the balance of her gestures. No sooner had she highlighted a lock of her hair with a little turquoise between her fingers than she swung her head, catching up with another hand tinted from overseas, the counter curve of another lock. Her false eyelashes were adjusted with such dexterity that it looked like the rustling of an Andalusian fan. She finished the picture, her eyes closed, offering her bright face to handfuls of pure pigments which she threw in the air as at the holi party. The happy public came out colorful for the day.

You have captured his feel very well with this image

a perfect homage to Yves...you created many of Yves' techniques: his simplified, stylish faces (lips, eyes, eyebrows and simple nostrils)...the long flowing lines of his hair, chin, necks, etc...the use of white or near-white for your background, etc.....but this is also very much your own piece, too: You have 'pencil' marks all over, thrown in for design. Your pink 'blobs' break into little blobs that float throughout the image. You put the pencils marks over the eyes and lips and across her face (Yves never does that.) You use a rainbow of hues for her hair, and so on. It's a very graphic image, very much a series of impressions, floating in space. Beautifully done, perfect for Yves, and it's beautiful in its own right.
