Wendacora: This is Sgt. Addams. Frida: Hi Sergeant. This is Frida from Midtown General. I'm sorry for the late call, but I needed to let you know that Kasha had collapsed here at work. Wendacora: Oh no! What happened, Frida?! Frida: I noticed something of a wheeze in her voice and mentioned it to her, but she brushed it off. Then her breathing became more labored, and she started feeling confused and more stressed. She mentioned a sharp pain in her forehead. I relieved her of duty and told her to wait in one of the empty exam rooms. That's when she staggered and fell. She's being looked at right now and testing for covid. She's otherwise alert, and understandably very concerned and upset. As all of us are. Wendacora: My God, no. When will I be able to talk to her? Frida: Too early to tell. She was taken to ICU about thirty minutes ago. One of the doctors told me she developed a high fever and chills along with her shortness of breath. Won't get results back for a while. You might be hearing from someone else concerning that, as I've been taken off duty and placed in isolation here at the hospital, along with Drusilla and Modeste. Wendacora: I-I understand, and I'm sorry for you and your teammates as well. Frida: Thank you. We knew our risk of infection was high, despite having something of decent precautions in place. But we soldiered on. People depend on us, and God willing, we will be back. All of us. Wendacora: God willing, indeed. [deep sigh] Thank you all for everything you're doing. If you can, tell Kasha we love her and we're all praying for her, and for all of you. Frida: I shall, and thank you and your team for your concern and support.
