A moving message
New year resolution 2023: I have been a member of this site for about 10 years, but now I feel it is time to move to a site with more traffic and interest.
I still will occasionally pass by, but any request or comment that needs answering may take a loooooong time.
Should you not have noticed during the last two years my main account now can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/maruberlin
And yes, there is quite a good chance that there are renders of mine containing nudity on that site.

Well done my friend, do you know the painting of Jean-Lรฉon Gรฉrรดme, Pollice verso, 1872 ?

NOW I can say I have seen it. If I tried to get that amount of detail with all these figures I probably need a different computer. Maybe there is a junk sale at Cray's, I hear that their latest CX1-LC starts at about โฌ12.000, but you need to buy the cables extra
gaius
I Gaius Duodecim, can tell you this is a perfect photo of the world where I live !!! Is this you best ? I'm not sure but I can tell you it's purely excellent.

Amazing !

The separation between the characters and the background is magic. Your eye for focus is a joy

Fabulous work!
bucyjoe
love it wonder if it would be beter with less saturation
RRun
Thanks for the suggestion. I had tried that in the postwork process already and found the lions to loose too much of their impact. Following your idea I took the final picture again and played with desaturation: the ground dust comes out a bit better, but again the overall look is better with "bright sunshine".

excellentscene and effects

It's really a joy to see a lively historical style render such as this one. I've always been drawn to French academic painters who captured such scenes, and your render reminds me of theirs. Great color and eye for detail!
imyourvillain
Awesome render, looks like the two lions dont realize the trouble that there in for.

The athletes of today are such a bunch of cry babies, oh I have a pulled muscle wa wa, lol.

..perfect scene and fantastic postwork
ArtDeCroh
Great details. Wonderful! That's brilliant work!

Awesome..."Swords and Sandals" at its finest. In contrast to Bucy, I find the saturation adds to the feeling of opressive heat, it also rather nicely echoes the palette of some of those classic 1970s movie posters

Unless his name is Daniel, he is done for!

Fantastic work on this!! Love the lions and the way the background blends. Looks like it should be in a book.
