Description

My local Sunday Green Market's bread line. Everyone is showing respect for each other by social distancing and face masks...wish that were the case countrywide.

Well everyone here is driving miles to crowd beaches but we’re told they could 😢 We can get most things, even the toilet paper that some panic bought.

Lots of emotion for this...One, it's wonderful to see people out, and practicing social distance. Two, it's great to see fine breads (organic, I assume whole grain?), and to see the businesses practicing s.distancing too. Three, I'm always happy to see small businesses still going. Four, it's painful that they still have to practice anything (that the virus is still there). And also, I imagine it's not always easy to get these foods, because of the lockdown. Lots of gentle shadows in the images, a sweet looking neighborhood. (I'm vegetarian, so great bread is a big deal to me.) I hope all places practice what your neighborhood does---w/ the violence towards clerks who simply request that customers wear a mask, it gets pretty ugly in spots. (The stores are happy to deliver, but some people insist on shopping in-store, without distance or protection.) Stay well and safe, Barb. It's great to see you post. And what a nice spring day, too...

Yup, organic bread. I buy mostly organic foods--bread, fruit, veggies, meat, eggs, butter, milk, etc. etc.--it's not only better for me but also for the environment and the livestock. I am not a vegetarian :)

I'm glad people are being serious and taking care. Massachusetts is still struggling. Mom and I don't go out. Stay safe!

It is reassuring to see that people are reasonable and respect the recommendations for everyone's health. I hope life is not too difficult for you in New York with this epidemic. Here, there are more problems with non-compliance with instructions since people heard the word deconfinement; there were groups of people in parks, on beaches, in stadiums ... without taking into account the gestures of distentiation and without masks ...

Beautiful and interesting photos, Barb, take care of you!

A great pair of photos, Barb... What times we live in. I remember reading about bread lines back in the depression days... But it looks like these folks (and most others) are muddling through and doing so with respect for others. That's a good sign - we might actually have some hope for humanity...

Your pictures give me a view of another world. I am glad to see such respect for the virus displayed in New York. After seeing the pool parties and crowded boardwalks yesterday, it’s going to get worse. Meanwhile, our malignant “leader” plays golf. We live in such different environments. Thursday I watched one of the hawks that have built a nest in a huge oak tree in my yard confront and capture a snake. It took him thirty minutes doing quite the threat display. I’ve found small snake skeletons under their nesting tree. Thanks for your images of what is basically another way of life to me.
