I saw this when you posted it, and I thought: Whoa! He used a non-black background! You used this salmon-flesh tone, and orange-tan, with dark yellow highlights around the bug: It's beautiful, Tom, and creates a whole different atmosphere. (The black is brilliant, but this is a new feel.) Your largely-blue bug has more of your "cut glass" texture, though in the very center you use the kind of organic segments one finds in biological insects, which makes this seem like it could crawl off the screen and scuttle for the walls. Beautiful use of different blues, with more of your morphed-light wings (the way you create light-on-chrome feeling on your wings...really, they're almost like plane wings!). And two blue eyes, with light and dark combined. (Your eyes are always in harmony with, or in dialogue with your bodies.) Lots of whites and grays here too, to set off the blues. So the dynamic variations continue...beautiful.
