you have upset my cat. Who is a damn sight more important than you. And for that you will be held accountable to Bast. Oho - you don"t believe in Bast, eh? Or Mau. or ... OK chum; just wait and see. The powers that be will reach out for you yet. There are far too many humans on this planet, ruining the world for the rest of us. So you yourself will hardly be missed ... A bit harsh? Well it's been a long day and there are far too many reports of humans hurting or abandoning pets. And we still call ourselves 'civiised'? Huh! This virus thingie has brought out the worst in some of us; sorry, but it has indeed been a rather bad day today. Ah me; let s all keep cheerful. (Aiko3)

Her points - and yours - are quite valid. As you said, the virus brings out the worst (or perhaps what they truly are) in certain people. They feel it's everyone for themselves.

Hoarding food, sanitizer, and paper products; abandoning pets; discrimination against certain races and blanket-blaming them for Covid-19 (holding certain governments and institutions accountable is a different story however, but that can wait until the virus is under control). We're supposed to be better than this. And yet this could be the tip of the iceberg if the virus continues its path...
