Married to Claire, aka PurpleJelly, a not-currently-active member here. We have two children, Samuel and Ilona. Sam has recently been diagnosed with autism and Ilona appears to be pretty much the same but we're awaiting the outcome of further tests. We all share our house with nine (yes, nine!) cats. Good job it's a big house.
Due to the little ones, I don't spend as much time here as I used to, but I'm intending to spend more time working on my modelling and hopefully selling a few bits and pieces here. I have an extensive range of Dalek models available in Freestuff, and at least one other non-Dalek freebie. More freebies will be forthcoming as time allows, including - but not limited to - more Dalek stuff and perhaps the odd bit of scenery and general SF stuff.

Very kool image. The flame is really well done. I like your lighting.

Thank you! The flame was created in Photoshop, then wrapped onto a transparent ball prop and distorted. There are a couple of lights; one for the "volumetric" cones, and one for the hand and face. I could have spent hours longer on the lights, I guess. But didn't. :)

Not bad, not bad at all, but if you think that this render is better than what I do with Dork, then I beg to differ. Not that your wrong, or that I right, but Dork is what I like! -and obviously Mike is what you like. But with M3 textures, I think that You'll be able to do even better. You can pound a nail with a hammer, or you can get a nail gun. Mike2 is the hammer, but the M3 textures would be the pressurized hose that backs it up, and makes ti just that more efficient. Note that I don't insist that you abandon Mike 2 altogether as old fashioned, only that you work to upgrade and improve the base model. This is my philosophy altogether, that we strive to upgrade and improve what we have, rather than wipe it all out and replace it altogether with the newest, latest, shiniest model. Yours truly, David P. Hoadley
