Though the pictures on the web site had been very clear that the room I was renting was a double. I fought my panic. The clerk shrugged - after all there wasn't anything he could do. With three conventions in town the hotel was booked up. The mistake might have been accidental of born of greed, but it wasn't like they could just throw somebody else out of their room to make up for it. Technically, it [i]was[/i] a double room. But bunk beds? And that top bunk was going to be uncomfortable. I'll let Skye take the bottom. At least [i]it[/i] was normal-sized. It was hard enough when I'd be sleeping in a bed on the other side of the room. But above her? Where if I just turned my head a bit I could see her sleeping face? "Very well. I appreciate the effort anyway." I said, mind definitely elsewhere. Trying not to think about what she liked to sleep in. I turned from the clerk. I think he said something about processing the refund but I just waved him off. Taking the long walk back to the room to get a handle on my breathing. Practicing what I would say, practicing a smile. Wondering if I could find a comfortable position in the car. I should have rented something bigger for the trip. Sitting next to her in the 'vette for the drive already had my head spinning. The dream I had in the motel last night didn't help, either. At least there had been [i]two[/i] rooms available. And she had her TV on, so she probably didn't hear anything. [i]Just calm down. Take a cold shower. Everything will be just fine.[/i] For some reason I had some trouble getting the key in the door. At last the light turned green, and I fixed the smile on my face, readying what I was going to say. The room was dark, but for the lamp. Skye lay sprawling across the bed. At first I thought she might have fallen asleep for the shadows, but then my eyes adjusted and I realized her beautiful green eyes were staring into mine and that expression was definitely [i]something.[/i] My breath caught. My smile froze. I took in the rest of her. She had kicked off her shoes, and the long stockings that had given me such trouble in the car, and the way the light lit up her legs threatened to undo me. Then I noticed that the jacket was open. And there was no shirt. All day, she'd kept it zipped shut, like she was cold. I realized I was staring. Usually she would tease, but this time her expression was purely desire. "Aren't you going to come in?" She said, her voice low. Heavy with lust. "I think I worked out how we can share the bed."
