Description
No one knows where Kimberly is from, as an infant she was found on the beach after a storm and taken in by a friendly fisherman and his wife. The villagers assume that she was from a ship that foundered in the rough seas and sank off the coast washing the tiny baby overboard. Their theory was backed up by debris that washed ashore at the same time. The child’s survival was considered miraculous and a gift from the sea god.
Despite her obvious elven heritage Kim was accepted into the village and raised like one of their own. Due to her longer lifespan she enjoyed a long and happy childhood growing up in the fishing village. Being raised around the sea she learned to fish and sail at a young age and grew up helping her father fish.
As the years passed she eventually took over for her father who had grown to old to work. Sadly, her increased lifespan meant that her family and even her friends grew old while she remained a young woman. Finally, after her parents had passed, she could no longer stand to watch everyone she knew growing old and dying so she left the village. She hoped to find other elves with whom she could find lasting relationships.
Unfortunately, the first elf she found was a handsome scoundrel named Revalor “Yellow” Vaxalim. He earned the nickname yellow due to his unusual pale blond hair and not at all because he was a sneaky coward. Taken in by his good looks and bad boy styling she joined him as the member of a pirate crew and spent many years travelling the seas having many adventures. During which time Revalor did his best to keep her away from other elves and played on her abandonment issues.
Things finally came to a head when the rest of the crew, sick of his bs, decided to get rid of Revalor. Arriving in port the ship’s crew secretly informed the guard about the notorious pirate staying in the port. Kim, on the other hand, was liked by the crew and one of them warned her about what had happened. True to form she warned Revalor, but her warning came too late and the guardsmen surrounded the building they were in. Finally showing his true colors Revalor betrayed Kim to the guardsmen, using her as a distraction to escape.
Kim was captured and put on trial for abetting a known pirate. Angered at their failure to catch their prize the magistrate threw the book at her. Sending her to the Grey Keep, a notorious prison on a small island in the middle of the ocean, she survived a dozen hellish years. During which time she talked to many other pirates and learned the unhappy truth about Revalor. She also found that he had immediately replaced her and apparently forgotten about her.
Finally, she has been released and is looking for a place in the world. She hates Revalor and wants revenge but only as an aside, she is not interested in pursuing a campaign of revenger. But if their paths should cross…

Great scene. All the tackle gives it a real 'working ship" feel.
