Description

I got the idea for this after I loaded FirstBastion’s amazing (and huge) Rural Crossroads set. I live in a rural area, where trucks carrying hay are a frequent sight, as are bicyclists, so I wanted to show one’s journey being momentarily delayed by the other. But after making some stunning landscapes with TerraDome2 recently, I found the scenery in this piece a bit boring, despite the addition of flowers, cows, birds, and a tree. So I decided to use this piece to start learning my way around Topaz Studio 2, which I recently purchased in order to add painterly effects to renders. I definitely prefer this version to the "as rendered" version, but I probably could’ve amped up the painting effect even more! Rendered in May 2020 in Poser Pro 11 Firefly at 4000 x 2250 pixels. View full size on my blog (or by clicking the blue "Open Full Image" button above). ==CREDITS== SCENE: Rural Crossroads by FirstBastion; Bicycle by STZ; Bird props by MostDC; Chestnut tree by whitemagus; Asiatic Lillies, Black-eyed Susans, and Indian Grass by Lisa’s Botanicals. CHARACTER: Sasha-16 version of V4 by Karina; Hiking Outfit (crops and fleece top) from PoserWorld; STZ SportsBabe Gym Shoes; Ponytail from Biscuits Hair Salon; Bike Helmet by Varsel; Lorenzo Lorez by P3DA (driving the truck).

Living in the country in my youth, I can relate strongly to this observation. Never any traffic of any kind on the old rural roads until you needed to go someplace. Then it seemed like everyone else had the same idea! LOL! Excellent image! Love it!

It's called Rural Crossroads and it's by FirstBastion (at the DAZ store). This render shows only a small portion of it. Behind the camera is a tunnel through a mountain! It's a pretty cool set, as are most of the ones I have from FirstBastion!

I really like this image - just the way it is - the light effect just makes it still look real - I think it's perfect.

It is a very cute and fun piece. I remember as a young lad going to my Uncle Merrel's farm. My first ride in a 18 wheeler hauling cows back from Texoma.

This could be my small town. This has a Norman Rockwell/Grandma Moses feel to it.

Nicely done, it is cool how you added the caution arrows for the turn in the road. Excellent quiet country scene. Superb!

Thank you for the comment! I can't take credit for the caution arrows, though, or any other aspects of roads (and road signs, telephone poles, etc.), as they come with FirstBastion's Rural Crossroads set.
