Description
At about 75 feet high, this oak
shows its losing battle with the axe men,
who cut its twin and sealed its fate... this
upper portion casts a dancing shadow in sunlight,
and an ominous darkness from the moon... is it Halloween yet?
My first memorized poem, from about the 3rd grade perhaps,
by Joyce Kilmer
Trees
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Your new capture is a sad one, everywhere our woods are in danger! We have to stop this too, especially in the Rainforest!!! Next week I finally have an appointment for a computed tomography (CT) and I hope that they will find out where exactly my unbearable back pain comes from. I wish you a already a nice weekend, stay vigilant and healthy!

It's a sad state of affairs indeed. The lockdown, the isolation, the destruction of our environment... It's all connected.. I keep hoping we as a species will learn a few things from this situation, but I'm not putting any bets on the table..
Wonderful pair of photos.

It's sad when a tree dies. Oaks are strong but the mighty fall, too. These images are a cool reflection of how small we are when we look up.
