The composition is magically simple. There is a wonderful sense of peace and comfort in this illustration, and I really like the little expression on the cat. I do have two observations, though; First, the perspective on the wall and the little dresser seem to be off. I held a straight-edge up to the screen and compared the right side of the window seat to the chest and they don't line up. I also think the lines to the left (at her back) match up, either, but I could be wrong. In general I love the warm, homey tones in this image. But there seems to be too much detail in her hair when compared to her clothes and the cat. Perhaps using a lighter shade of brown would tone it down a bit and bring it back into sync with the rest of the illustration? I'm not really sure, but I think that would help. Finally, let me say that I really like the clothing, decor of the room and that wonderful night scene outside the window. It feels at once contemporary and timeless. And let's not skip over the detail on the glass. Very subtle, but highly effective.
