Description

This 1951 Hudson Hornet was supposed to be a quick two day turnaround for my brother. The more I looked at it, the more I was compelled to fix all the flaws. Two days turned into eight days, and there are still flaws. So I finally put it in the finished category & turned it over to him for more body work. I do not remember who hosted this beauty. Contact me and I will give credit where credit is due. The Hudson Hornet backdrop is Meadow Ridge Farm. It was founded in the late 19th century by a Manhattan-based financier. It Covers 100 acres alongside the Hudson River, with views of the Berkshire and Catskill mountain ranges that define the Hudson Valley.

Well, isn't this a small world. I took my driving test in this very same car in 1958, different color though. In addition to that, I grew up in Hoboken, N.J., that waterfronts the Hudson River that you describe in your scene, and have visited the Catskill Mountains many times. The Hudson valley has many beautiful views and was the site of the very 1st large scale battle fought in the Revolutionary War by General George Washington. He lost big time and retreated his army over to Valley Forge, Pa., and fought the battle of Trenton on Christmas Eve, where he killed or captured about 800 German Hessian soldiers without the lost of a single American soldier. Certainly a great victory to prove his worth. Guess you didn't expect a history lesson because of your picture of a car. : =)
