Description
Mary took the Whirl-A-Vator to Joss’s office and met her new boss.
“The schools!” she exclaimed. “I’m so eager to help the schools.”
“In this nation,” Minister Joss said, “education has nothing to do with the schools.”
He cast a cold eye upon her. “So Malenkovich sent another spy down here, did he? Young lady, you’re going to get an education, all right.”
He escorted her down a dark hallway to a musty, windowless office.
“Assume you’re being bugged,” he said. “Always.”
