I like Barb's comment (bakapo), about the male and female spending the day together. You captured them in the foreground, and over water, so they really stand out (they're the "dividing line" in your image). And you caught tufts of grass behind them. It looks like the sun is low, and the colors suggest mid to late afternoon (or early morning): Beautiful hues. A really well-composed image.
