Description
"While on their journey to Endoria, Sapphire and Trista encountered a warrior who claimed to own the only road into the city. His toll for passing on was way more than they were willing (or able) to pay, especially on a road that he really didn't own. He obviously underestimated his opponents, and didn't realize he could not match Sapphire's power combined with Trista's speed and cunning."
Both main characters are custom Genesis 3 Female figures, the male is a Genesis figure. Sapphire (the right figure) is created using Sapphire for G3F with a lot of additional morphs, the figure on the right was created using Sunny 7 as the based figure. Both figures have modified shaders as well as lots of additional morphs. The environment was created using UltraScenery from DAZ. It's fantastic to finally have the ability to generate small landscape environments in DAZ Studio the are real geometry!! To get the early morning haze effect I used Iray's Mat Fog in conjunction with a for prop from SickleYield's Swift Steam (opacity and color modified to give the effect I wanted). Both fog effects together really helped to give depth to the "morning haze", The scene is lit with an HDRI from HDRI Haven (Pond Bridge Night) which gave a unique yellow/orange sunrise glow, two mesh lights (for fill lights) and t spot lights (rim lights).
Rendered using Iray in the DAZ Studio Beta 4.12.2.6 on a RTX 2070.
Thanks for stopping by!

Very impressive image, stunning characters...loving their stances and outfits you've done a fantastic work on the textures and materials the whole scene has a really nice perspective and depth.... draws you in... becoming very involved with it... from an observational perspective....your lighting even tho its very good...and there is no doubt in that....not sure it matches the background completely... yours is front lit right to left..i have a little reservation......this is that i see....in my opinion and it is only mine...the background is backlit...going by the shadows on the clumps of grass growing along the side of the path...and the tree to the right (views right)...or over the shoulder of the character holding the heavy blade, shadows are opposite yours...but again i am one comment in possible 20 that say otherwise.....still dose not detract from what is a top notch first class render...!!

Thanks!! Interesting observations, I'll have to think about what might be causing the discrepancy in the shadows. Everything except the brownish trees in the far distance is actual geometry (they are in the HDRI). It's not an image or HDRI, nor bill-boards (except for the leaves on the trees), but actual 3D objects. Possibly the fill light I have high and to the rear (center) is causing the shadow discrepancies? The spot lights are too close to (behind) and focused on the figures. so they can't be causing shadows on the trees/grass. The two mesh light are behind the camera, so they couldn't cause any erroneous shadows. I'll have to check it out when I get a chance to see what might be causing what you are seeing.
Thanks again, something else for me to be aware of in the future!!

This isn't a bridge, and you sure aren't Gandalf....
Yeah, I think he's badly out of his depth. Don't underestimate the ladies.... Trust me on that... 😉
Fantastic work on this - their poses definitely put the fear into anyone barring their path.

Very skillful use of Daz. The workflow you describe is very detailed and oppressive and really showcases where the engine has come. You encouraged me to work more in that environment. Thank you for posting this. Be well and stay safe

they're lucky it isn't John Cleese doing his Black Night routine :) great 3D image with the way the figures stand out in the scene and love the figure on the right just coming into partial view. Superb texture quality too

Excellent, love this, although would love to see this without the warm lighting on the characters (bit too red) looks like they are at a photoshoot.
