You capture very intense expressions in a number of your portraits, esp in the oil stick/pastel portraits: This is one. This person has a very intense gaze, almost a drunken one, with eyebrows raised in question...and your red and black lines (in the face) are rushed on like a de Kooning; and your use of heavy darks for her hair (this looks like a woman) really makes her face stand out. Powerful portraiture, Steve, and the "in our face" crop---with almost no space around the head---brings her right into our comfort zones. I love the skewed angle of her nose...
