Description
OK, here goes. This is my first LW model/render. This is similar to a project I gave myself a year ago when I first learned modeling w/Rhino using an F1. I wanted something challenging to make so I could learn LW along the way. Thanks to Lewis's tut, I was able to figure a lot out, so much that I can now build this better. As for the paint scheme, I originally planned on keeping Newteks corporate color scheme but much like their interface, its cold and sterile. No offense, I prefer it that way and would rather my interface not look like someone puked on it after eating a bowl of Lucky Charms :) I hate big chunky buttons. Anyway, I took some creative liberties with the color scheme (obviously) and finally figured it was time to test the waters and post.

Great Work... Maybe add a bit of blur for motion.
MacD.
That is simply outstanding. The detail and beauty of this is truely impressive. I'm finding it difficult to believe this is anything but a photograph.
Lexip
Great. bigger reflections will be better.

Kick ass modeling! I agree with Lexip. Use a fresnel control for raytracing so the polys at an oblique angle to the camera reflect more and the polys facing the camera reflect less.

actually i didn't interested in the car too much BUT this is exception cause the rendering is sooooooo excellent, looks like Nascar 2009(i mean the far future of Nascar series games)

Honestly, it doesn't get much better than this my friend. Modeling, paintjob, decals, fence, textures, lighting. I can go on and on, but intead I'll just say... Damn good job.

Very nice!

It's not fair it's you master the car on your first try I am still wingin it
sabaman
indeed great job, all i can say is loose the headlight tex and just model simple headlights, gives alot more realism, great job,...
Guillermo
Just AWESOME!!

Whoa!!! First time out on the circuit and a real winner! I have to say I am very impressed by this, from modeling all the way to rendering, you've really got this one down very nicely. Hope that you'll keep posting more! :o)

Thank you for your comments and crits. BeyondMyth: thanks for the welcome. Iparisek: I stayed away from any motion blur really because with no driver, it did not make sense for showing motion. MacD:Thank you. Not quite as "photoreal" yet, give me time :) Lexip & Bulbousone: I actually had a serious problem with the reflections & a lot had to do with the skydome image. Anything higher "blew-out" the hood. Its not pure white but it was as light as I could go. I have an incidence angle gradient controling the reflections where they become stroger as the surface turns away, again anything higher "blew-out". I believe a HDRI would have been a better solution but at the time I already had so much to learn just to do this. HDRI is next on my list to learn :) Sabaman:NASCAR's/stockcars do not have headlights or doors for that matter. Safety reasons. They are in fact decals. My next vehicle will have real ones. Again, thank you all for the replies. Aside from countless hours of trials and errors, feedback is a great learning tool. Time to start something new. Cheers!
