Description

Hello my friends ! I'm back with a brand new image. I like the fantasy universe and the old myths. So I wanted to realized an image about the Nibelungen, an old German legend. Nibelungen means "people of the fog" and are usually represented as dwarves who lived near the Rhine River. In this legend it is told that gold was hidden in the Rhine River and the main character is Siegfried. Richard Wagner himself was inspired by the 12th century legend and composed a tetralogy : the Ring of the Nibelungen. Here are the names of the operas : Das Rheingold (The Rhinegold) Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) Siegfried Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods) The King Ludwig II von Bayern was a huge fan of Wagner's artwork and of this opera... Das Ring der Nibelungen...que de souvenirs quand nous étudiions cela en allemand, au lycée...Wotan, Siegrfied...n'avaient aucun sercret pour moi mais, déjà à l'époque, je ne pouvais pas supporter la musique de Wagner ! et ça ne s'est pas amélioré ! Tu ravives des souvenirs d'un autre temps avec cette superbe création, un peu sombre, comme il se doit.

J'aime la musique de Wagner, mais je suis totalement ignorant au sujet des mythes allemands qui semblent si fascinants. Cette illustration, toutefois, enflamme mon imagination sur divers événements potentiels dans un cimetière en pleine nuit. Troublant et captivant!

Une très belle composition d'ambiance qui donne corps et vie à des mots qui pour moi n'en avaient en fait pas, malgré les références familières aux opéras de Wagner et aux mythes germaniques et scandinaves. Merci pour ces précisions sur l'origine étymologique des Nibelungen. Encore un fabuleux travail dans Vue, bravo !
