She reaches for a calmness and the Space that is infinite.
Her function is to keep the pollutants and pressures of “civilized” thinking from crowding into all the mental, emotional, and spiritual Spaces of daily Living.
She is engaged in constant battle, in the culture war between Doing and Being. That battlefield where it is so easy to forget who and what we really are.
In our over-booked, competitive, busy, busy city lives, we yearn for that cool uncluttered breath of fresh air she strives to call forth for us.

Extraordinary. Yes, there is that constant push pull of the dichotomy of wanting more and needing less in our lives...perhaps this Covid mess will cause some to realize that some things we thought were so important actually are not necessary in our lives.

beautiful orange and bronze tones, and your shaman is like a cornucopia blooming into an urban landscape...in fact, you've made a bunch of high rises look like oil wells, stretching back into infinity...a very haunting and powerful background. (Some of them look like the Hancock Bldg, here in Chicago!) Beautiful detail on her headdress, which actually seems to be part of her...as well as the way you drape lines over her face. Your text speaks of finding peace in the center of crazy activity, and your shaman stares out from some inner place of solitude. And then, all the patterns on her are like the natural patterns of life...which makes her peaceful as well. You always do the unexpected, and your formal scheme and hues are all beautiful, and make this feel restful in the midst of all that daily activity...
