Description

Precedent scene: Delphine's Parents (https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/delphines-parents/2948901/) First scene of the story-arc: Chaos and Death (https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/chaos-and-death/2889324/?p&ca) I can't post the picture in full rez here (It can't be bigger than 6000pixels, the original is more than 7000px), so if you want to see the full size, you can see it here: https://www.deviantart.com/mekheke/art/Floilogn-848911699 ________________________________________ Floilogn is the major human city and the most important port of the northern continent of Hvittland. Built in Dalgrön, the Green Valley, it is the only port accessible all the year, even in winter, due to its climate slightly higher than the rest of the continent. Founded several thousand years ago by the first human settlers coming from the south, it serves as a link between the two continents. The whole continent of Hvittland was once ruled by the Mountains Dwarves, but living underground, they offered gladly the surface to their human allies who fought with them against the elves. Since then, Humans and Dwarves relations have had more than one ups and down. Being an important link between Tyrnaelva and Hvittland, the population, like the architecture, of Floilogn is a mix of human Tyrnaelvans and Hvittlanders. Elves are very rare in the city and even rarer in the rest of the continent. High Elves, maybe it comes from their tall and fatless bodies, do not like the extreme cold of this land. As for their cousins the Wood Elves, if more adapted to the cold than their fair skinned counterpart, live far to the south, thus they have rarely the occasion to travel so far north. The population of dwarves in the city is depending of the relation between the humans and the dwarves and when our five heroes came to the city, very few of them could be seen. The night was already here when the five companions arrived in Floilogn. They spent the afternoon at the University of Magic of Aubejolie with Delphine's parents. At the end of the day, a message was sent among the magicians specialised into travel portals to find one able to send them to Husjathrain, the town of Marina and Sigrid. Unfortunately none of them were capable to send them so far to the north, none having been there before. This was kind of expected by Delphine, thus the plan B was to teleport to Floilogn were they could rest for the night and buy the next day everything needed to their trip to the village of the two sisters. The goodbye between Delphine and her parents was warm, though a little sad and with concern from the part of the two parents. Cleo and Roland knew that their daughter's quest would not be without great dangers. To not raise the attention, the portal opened at few minutes of walking from the city. They arrived at the town just before the closing of the gates, preventing them to spend the night outside the fortified walls of the city. The sky was clear and the night bright because of a moon almost full. Because of the clear sky, the night was particularly cold and excepted Delphine that didn't seemed to be bothered by it at all despite her thin tunic, the group was eager to find a warm place quickly. In Floilogn was living the maternal grand-parents of Marina and Sigrid so they decided to go visit them first, before trying to find a inn. Jean and Annette were Tyrnaelvan merchants who settled in Hvittland when Louise, Marina's and Sigrid's mother was a very little girl. When they saw their grand-daughters at their door the two old people looked delighted beyond words. Of course they knew what happened in Husjathrain and to Sigrid's husband and to her son and they knew too that she left the continent to find her younger sister. So seeing them together was a great relief for them. Their house was modest, but after the joy of the reunion, the presentation by the sisters of their friends and a quick explanation, the grand-parents proposed to all to sleep there. But Delphine, Minalva and Romatzo declined saying they were prefering to let them in family and go to a inn. The group had a good amount of money, first given by Omdeo at the Guild of Adventurers and second by Delphine's parents who insisted to give some more, despite them having largely enough of it. With all that money they decided to go in the best inn in the city. Sigrid, who knew the town relatively well, visiting her grand-parents, in normal circumstances, at least twice a year, lead them there, followed by Marina. The inn of the "Kingly Ship" was in the port, not very far from the castle of the administrator of the city. When they asked for rooms, the inn keeper gave a weird look at Romatzo and Minalva, but then he saw the gold the companions had and a great smile appeared on his face, his manners became the more friendly of the world and he offered them some of the best rooms of his establishment. After they settled, Marina and Sigrid wished to their friends a good night and returned to their grand-parents house while Minalva and Romatzo went to their room and Delphine in hers. ____________________________ Establishing shot, once again. :) I wanted to do a render of a city like this for a long time but, until now, I was too "afraid" to try to do it, because it's a challenging kind of picture. Excepted the smoke coming from the chimney everything was made directly in Daz Studio. Adding the snow on the roofs, one by one, was a pain in he ass, I must say. I would have liked to add more characters in the scene, but DS was starting to be very long at loading new things in the scene, so I decided to stay reasonable. It's also why I choose to do the scene at night since the beginning, because I knew it wouldn't be illogical to have an almost empty street during a winter night. Our five heroes are in the scene, they are not hidden but you'll need to zoom in the picture to find them. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the text and the render. ^^
