I'm ashamed to say I'm woefully ignorant of Tolkien, but I'm familiar with the Bridge of Khazad-dum from people who know Tolkien well. If you captured things from Tolkien, I'd have no way of knowing (I sound like I live in a cave!), but I love what you created regardless, and I can't believe it was made with fractals! I can see fractal forms, but I don't know how you meld them into big sweeping things like this. I love the sweep of the bridge, and those burning girders underneath, and those monstrous tentacles and limbs above. And you got some of the characters back there, and I love how they're wayyy back there while this whole place sweeps all around them. And you have these creepy insect-like things on the bottom---I love how they creep their way to the bridge. Maybe they're islands, or ships? I don't know. But it's a big sweeping fiery-dark scene, and we get the sense that the people back there are its saviors. Terrific use of fractals, and more of your wonderful imagination. Bravo. (am I going to be the first commenter? given that I'm usually the last, this is a red-letter moment!)

This is outstanding, Barb! That scene in the movie where they all collapsed outside after escaping Moria, and they all thought Gandalf was dead, had me bawling like a 2 year old.. LOL You really took this to a new level!
