Here, you have scales layered on top of each other...and the scales on this bug's back are made of glass or something similar. A beautiful almost neon back, with blues and purples making a royal neon sight. I love the colors in the legs, and the reds strewn along the sides, along with the yellows and greens; and of course the two wings in deep purples. You put this against green, which is a fine setting-off color (it sets off the bug); and I love that the eyes are made of the same scales as the rest of the bug. Man, if you ever run out of ideas in this series, they'll have to fly the flags at half mast. A beautiful variation.

Glorious colouring. A really fine piece!

Wonderful colors on this pretty little bug. He has no camouflage. I suspect he will end up in some little kids collection jar. In my version of the story he will become the kids mentor and friend. The little kid will tell his parents about his new friend and they were just laugh.
