Description

Professor Thomas Harrison again, standing close to one of the wheels of his FireBlade. As well as being a highly regarded exo-geologist Professor Harrison is a really fine cook. So recruits and visitors to his FireBlade mobile home often comment on how well fed they were while working with or visiting him. The view from the roof of the house is a fine one, and the drones help to find new views each day. See that big red box on the roof? That's the drone hangar, and just behind it, between the hangar and the fence, is the drone pad. The FireBlade can carry four drones in its internal spaces, lifted into place by a small elevator in the hangar. Most of the time the drones operate autonomously, but there are systems in the control room to pilot them manually. Alternatively the crew of a FireBlade can just give the drones basic instructions and let their AI units work out the best way to carry out the mission. I'll show some images of the drones sometime in the next few days. The suit is from Xurge3D with my own modifications to the texture map.

Very impressive vehicle (I must say I can't read the words near the left side window !!!) and excellent creation. What can I do to be invited for a meal, a good meal I mean ?

The text is in Sindusan, a fictional alien language I created for texturing some of my science fiction models. I created several of them, with custom fonts which make many models much more convincing. If there are inhabited worlds out there with written language it won't be English, the way Hollywood often portrays it.

When traveling with such a large vehicle/mobile home, it's always wise to color-coordinate your outfit, just in case you get separated!! :-) I love that the vehicle has what appears to be an elevator for passengers wishing to disembark! No annoying ladders to fuss with! Impressive piece of machinery :-)

Yeah, don't forget to check on the elevator when you stumble out at 6 am with your first cuppa joe in hand, or hilarity will follow.

It has safety gates, and you cannot open them when the elevators are out of position. The gates on the elevators won't open unless they are at the top or until they are most of the way down, and the upper gates and doors are shut and locked once the elevators start to move downwards. So the dials will only work when appropriate; it's all in the ERC rig.

You could still fall off the roof if you opened the gate up there...

I love the sense of scale here. The FireBlade is BIG!

Yep - this is one big beauty, and those drones are handy indeed! I still want a case of those sausages... (yes, it has sausages.. LOL) Great view of it here!

This is a beautiful desertscape, and coupled with that enormous machine and the figure, gives a real sense of how small man is in the world. At the same time, he has this huge machine on his side too, so he might just be ok. :)
