Description
The Daleks have been building up in my runtime again, and of course they want to push themselfves to centre stage. So here is my tribute to their origin story - the 1974 Dr Who story The Genesis of the Daleks.. The Doctor (Tom Baker) is drafted by the Time Lords on a mission to the begining of Dalek history. The Timelords have forseen a time when the Daleks are the dominate form of life in the universe. In order to prevent this occuring they want the Doctor to return to a point in history during their creation we would ameliorate their impact in the first instance, but ultimately if that does not work to avert their existence altogether.
This is such a crucial story in Whovian law, that one must show respect, so for those of you haven't seen it then it is well worth a few hours of your time...
The dying skaro in the story has been riven by a thousand year war between the Kaled People and their mortal enemies the Thals. The surface of the planet Skaro has been made an irradiated and poisoned wasteland. The war has been going on so long now that the soldiers fight with a mixture of advanced and primitive weaponary.. The Doctor and his companions come across a group of dead Thals carrying laser rifles and bows and arrows.
The survivors of bothe races now reside in two domed cities situated just a short journey through some convenient if mutant filled underground caverns. The Kaleds are so desperate they use corpses to make their trenches look occupied.
The Daleks are confined to the backgrouds in this story, but we get to see
However when the Daleks are used they are as a consequence that much more effectively chilling than in stories where they take more centre stage.
The story was Terry Nation's creation and a departure from previous narratives about the Daleks origins.

Very interesting read. I remember you delving heavy into this story line from when I was here a long time ago. It was interesting that and it’s interesting now. Keep them coming.
