Description

Yesterday I was to the Taminaschlucht with friends. The water welling out there from the rock is 36 deg. thermal water and was used for curing and health since it was discovered by hunters in 1240. The fame of the thermal baths is based on a report by the famous doctor and alchemist Paracelsus in the 16th century. It was not until the 17th century that the water was brought to its present location using wooden pipes. Soon there were two large inns with a chapel, a drinking arbor, a butcher's and a sawmill.Bad Pfäfers in its fullest bloom in the 18th century is a place of health and social life. Two to three hundred people stay here, bathe, eat and drink, take a promenade, have fun. The guests come from all parts of Switzerland, from Germany and distant cities in Europe.

Looking where on the map it was, i smiled a little as they call it also Heidiland. I remembered them from my youth, "Heidi, Peter and Grandpa und Deine welt sind die Berge". It is fascinating to see this all and you must have had the day of your live, as one of these small people in that big "Riss" and how deep you get inside this Taminaschlucht . A wonderful view you give us, with your picture.
