For Directorate Solid Waste Remediation Technician, Billen, every day is a shit storm. Literally.
As a minuscule part of the galaxy-spanning bureaucratic machine that is the Directorate, Billen does what his superiors tell him to do with no questions asked. Every work shift is filled with predictable routine. Repair a leak in a four-ton solid waste tank? Got it! Unclog a bio-waste processing drain? No problem. Wade into a gelatinous pool of half-decomposed waste to take bacteria samples? Right away! His reward is a small personal living space, daily sustenance credits, and the satisfaction of knowing that his electron toilet works.
