Description

Modeled and rendered in LightWave. Several experiments on this WIP. I was experimenting with the new Drone Trooper (Mk. 7) using some old models, and trying to get some decent action poses going. Some new textures for both meshes, and some seamless tile ground textures taken with my digital camera. Also testing volumetric lights to simulate a bit of firepower. I am trying to set up a "boot camp" type of scene, where there is a live fire exercise. The drone trooper shown here is laying down suppressing fire with a "Growler". A favorite CISW* (seesaw) type of heavy gun. Design for the weapon was inspired by a weed whacker and a vacuum cleaner. I'm planning to get some DOF going and have several troopers running around behind some derelict buildings. Similar to something you might find at a training facility. Hope you like it so far. But there is tons of stuff to add and tweak and test. Thanks very much for dropping by to have a look. - - - - - - - *Combat Infantry Support Weapon

cool stuff moe, but for such a big gun his pose is a little weak to surpport the weight of the gun. It looks like the gun is overpowering him; his pose does not have a sence of weight, maybe make the gun smaller or change his pose.. Great job nevertheless..

mmm... growler... aarr... finally i can see that weapon in action... now about the pose... DL is right... it's supposed to be a heavy weapon so he shouldn't be posed walking and firing the gun sideways like that... think of Terminator and his gatling... just my 2 cents

Just great. I love the background concept which is always noticable in your images. Nice rigging of the character. Seems you are able to set him up to any position you want him to do. I am deeply impressed.

Sweet! I've been waiting to see this thing in combat! The gun does look a little big but that's why they call it sci-fi. Nice work M, keep `em coming. I wonder how one would look blown to pieces... :)

Extreme good work, man! The modeling is 100% top, the fire is excellent, and the movement in the image too (the way it seems, that the droid is moving...dont know how to explain...)Excellent work.
