Description

There are a few photographs, mostly black & white, that show the pilots lined up next to an X-20 mock-up. I thought replicating one of those photos might be interesting, and then it occurred to me that for fun I might try a "what if?" variation. A group of woman pilots qualified for the Mercury program but were never considered because they weren't men. This image considers what the X-20 pilot team might have looked like if only women were selected. The actual crew were mostly military but included a civilian pilot and I carried that through. I also added a little diversity. In the original black & white photo the mock-up was on a dolly, but there are other photos that show a decorated stand that I replicated and used here. The pilots front to back are Adriene with Ena hair, Mia with Bibi hair, Bambola with Hr-184, Kelsey with Hr-211, Amy from Digital Creations with Lucien hair, and Cortney with Samira Bob hair. The uniforms are the DAZ Army General with Expansion Air Force colors. The civilian Kelsey wears the Casual Series LBD (with a length morph) and the Beowulf jacket from DAZ. I used Wardrobe Wizard to fit the M4 clothing to V4. The mock-up is my X-20 Spaceplane, the stand is my freebie, and the setting is the Light Aircraft Hanger. Composed and rendered in Poser 11 Pro.
